I've noticed that there is a certain stage of a relationship where Valentines Day can be downright lethal. Thats the 'not-quite-officially-together' stage. I've seen it happen many times. One person in the couple makes big plans for valentines, and expects cards and gifts from the other ... while the other is thinking that they are not 'officially' a couple, so they blow off the holiday altogether.
