Decorating for
a luau is EASY!
include tropical flowers like Birds of Paradise, Ginger
and Orchids.
..."green up" your
party as much as you can, FOR FREE! ...cut palm fronds or leafy branches
off trees or plants in other areas of your yard, the day of the party (hey,
its gotta be done anyway) offer to prune your neighbors bushes as well!...then
fill large baskets or vases, bundle them up attractively, weave them onto
fences.... free decoration for your party!
Pineapples are great natural table centerpieces, and your
local florist has plenty of tropical flowers, such as birds-of-paradise,
that will make your backyard look like Hawaii
Purchase plenty of hula skirts for use as
table skirts, and of course, to wear!
Many party stores are now stocking table-sized grass skirts!

You can use hollowed coconuts as festive floral containers, or pineapples.... If you have a pool or water feature, ask your florist to create fun floral arrangements that will float. -- More floral ideas.
Hang fish netting all around the yard- create doorways, cover lawn equipment or pool pumps, hang on fences and on walls add little paper fishies if you want.
