Our Vacation July 2004

Afterward, we took another pedi-cab back to the car, but instead of leaving right away, we walked around the block to a restaurant called Buca di Beppo. We'd never heard of it, but I gather it's a large chain. The décor was busy, tons of photos and cool stuff to look at, reminded me of a more organized version of Angelos & Vinci's in Fullerton.

The food at Buca di Beppo is all served family style, so Dean and I had to find something we would both like, which is difficult in any Italian restaurant.

We had a salad and an appetizer platter, and it was still too much food, and we boxed up the salad and took it home. Our server was very nice and snapped a photo of us.

Alas, it was time to leave San Diego. Interstate 5 was very crowded almost the whole trip, it took us almost 5 hours to get home. I slept a little, and took wacky 15-second-exposure traffic photos by hanging my camera from the rear view mirror. We were very tempted to spend another night along the way, but we knew how hot it was in Lancaster, and I wanted to arrive home in the cool of the evening.

If you like this traffic photo,
I have some LA traffic photos HERE

The cats were very happy to see us, as they ran out the front door. While we were gone, my mom left flowers for us, bought us a carpet steamer and cleaned our carpet, and cleaned up around my desk. And left us dinner in the fridge! What a sweet surprise. Even though coming home from vacation is a drag, this was nice to come home to.
