Our Vacation July 2004

mizu_dean_2825 600 X 426 52 KB	mizu_dean_2821 600 X 450 65 KB	The first night we went to a great sushi bar that's very nearby, I had a plate of rolls topped with cream cheese and avocado, and it was warm... different AND delicious!
Since we were across the street, we walked over and rode Mission Bay's antique roller coaster, the "Giant Dipper". It was family night so rides were half-price, lucky! Boy do I feel bad for early coaster riders. I greatly prefer today's modern smooth coasters; even the newer woodies are smoother than this thing. I'll ride anything once, but please, once is enough for the Giant Dipper. I appreciate that they refurbished it, and for coaster fanatics, it's a must ride.

bahia_natasha_2614 600 X 436 68 KB The Bahia's resident rescued seal.	First morning at the Bahia, I called room service and ordered eggs & sausage. They brought me eggs and bacon, when I had ordered eggs& sausage... again! Oh wait, that was a different hotel, yesterday, same mistake, 150 miles away, two days in a row. lajolla_dean_2402 600 X 450 54 KB	lajolla_dean_2423 600 X 432 56 KB	Everyone who drank a bottle of Chianti got to sign it and they hung all over the restaurant. La Jolla is beautiful; we had a great time simply admiring the ocean. We saw a couple of seals and lots of local birds.
